Monday, January 28

  • SFRS Parent and Preschooler Drop-in (25 months – 6 years old) at CASA, 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
  • Parent and Child Stick & Puck Hockey at SEAPARC, 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Bring skates, gloves, and a caged helmet. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday, January 29

  • Moms’ Bible Study group meets at Sooke Baptist Church (7110 West Coast Road), 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Kids welcome – toys provided. You don’t have to attend Sooke Baptist Church to come!
  • Baby Talk (for ages 0 – 12 months) through VIHA at the CASA building, 10:00 to 11:30. Topic: Childhood Diseases and Immunizations.
  • Toonie skate at SEAPARC, 11:15 AM to 1:00 PM. Children 4 and under free. Cost does not include skate rental.

  • Head Start Music Program through SFRS at CASA. 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. For 4- and 5-year-olds. Music-based activities – singing, moving, listening, and instruments. Every second Friday. Call 250-642-5152 to register.
  • Kingfisher Preschool Groundhog Family Dance at EMCS, 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Pizza dinner, dancing, fun for the whole family. $3 per person; age 2 and under free.
  • Teen Drop-in for ages 13-17, 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the Sooke Community Hall (2037 Shields Road), put on by SEAPARC staff. Free! Pool, music, ping pong, guitar hero and more. Free snacks included!

  • Winter Wonderland at SEAPARC from 1:00-3:30 PM. Time to enjoy the best of what this season has to offer. Bring your family and friends down to SEAPARC to enjoy the Festival of Trees. Take a stroll through our forest and make a donation to BC Children’s Hospital by voting for your favourite tree. Then take a dip in our own winter wonderland pool. Our staff will be hosting games and activities to get you in the holiday mood with no stress.
  • The Nutcracker in a Nutshell at EMCS Community Theatre, 5:00 PM. A holiday dance tradition, classical with a “twist”. A fundraiser by Sooke Dance Studio for the Sooke Family Resource Society. $15 General Seating (age 2 and under free on lap). Tickets on sale at Sooke Dance Studio & Bees Knees.
  • Sooke Fire and Rescue food drive with Santa on lighted trucks. Details and paper bags will be distributed in the Sooke News Mirror.

Sunday, December 16

  • Sooke Santa Skate at SEAPARC, 2:00-3:00 PM. Bring the whole family out to skate with Santa! Join SEAPARC staff on and off the ice for holiday crafts and activities. Hot dogs and hot chocolate provided by Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty. Don’t forget your camera! Limited skate rentals will be available for use. Admission by donation of food, toys or cash.

  • Winter Wipe Out at SEAPARC from 1-3:30 PM. It’s back … but this time it’s winter wipeout! Snow and all! We will have a giant obstacle course set up for your enjoyment. This demanding, hilarious obstacle course is for kids of all ages, but please note that you must be at least 48 inches tall to use our inflatable water slide. Only one contestant can be victorious. Everyone else will wipe out!
