Monday, December 10

  • SFRS Parent and Baby/Toddler Drop-in (0 – 24 months old) at CASA, 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

Tuesday, December 11

  • Baby Talk (for ages 0 – 12 months) at CASA through VIHA, 10:00 to 11:30. Topic: Travel and Car Seat Safety.
  • Power of Positive Parenting seminar at CASA, 6:30-8:30 PM: Raising Competent Confident Children.

Wednesday, December 12

  • SFRS Parent Discussion group at CASA, 9:30 to 11:00. Topic: Holiday Celebration.

Thursday, December 13

  • SFRS Young Parents’ Discussion Group at CASA, includes lunch, 11:00 to 1:30. Topic: Holiday Celebration.

Friday, December 14

  • Books for Breakfast storytime at the CASA building, 9:30 AM. For 2-4 year-olds. Kids get to hear a story, have a snack, and get a free book to take home. Contact Jodie to register: 250-580-2252 or sookeliteracy@gmail.com.
  • Teen Drop-in for ages 13+, 7:30 to 9:45 PM at the Sooke Community Hall (2037 Shields Road), put on by SEAPARC staff. Free! Pool, music, ping pong, guitar hero and more. Free snacks included!

Saturday, December 15

  • LAST 2012 Kindergym at SEAPARC, for ages 1-5, $3, 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Winter Wonderland at SEAPARC from 1:00-3:30 PM. Time to enjoy the best of what this season has to offer. Bring your family and friends down to SEAPARC to enjoy the Festival of Trees. Take a stroll through our forest and make a donation to BC Children’s Hospital by voting for your favourite tree. Then take a dip in our own winter wonderland pool. Our staff will be hosting games and activities to get you in the holiday mood with no stress.
  • The Nutcracker in a Nutshell at EMCS Community Theatre, 5:00 PM. A holiday dance tradition, classical with a “twist”. A fundraiser by Sooke Dance Studio for the Sooke Family Resource Society. $15 General Seating (age 2 and under free on lap). Tickets on sale at Sooke Dance Studio & Bees Knees.
  • Sooke Fire and Rescue food drive with Santa on lighted trucks. Details and paper bags will be distributed in the Sooke News Mirror.

Sunday, December 16

  • Sooke Santa Skate at SEAPARC, 2:00-3:00 PM. Bring the whole family out to skate with Santa! Join SEAPARC staff on and off the ice for holiday crafts and activities. Hot dogs and hot chocolate provided by Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty. Don’t forget your camera! Limited skate rentals will be available for use. Admission by donation of food, toys or cash.

  • SFRS closed from today until 2013; programs resume on January 2.

Friday, December 21

  • Teen Drop-in for ages 13+, 7:30 to 9:45 PM at the Sooke Community Hall (2037 Shields Road), put on by SEAPARC staff. Free! Pool, music, ping pong, guitar hero and more. Free snacks included! If you plan to go to this one, please call SEAPARC to confirm if this is on this week; the brochure doesn’t specify when the last one before Christmas is.
