**Every weekday morning there is Strong Start at John Muir School from 9:15-12:15.**

Monday, October 29

  • SFRS Parent and Preschooler Drop-in (25 months – 6 years old) at CASA, 9:30 to 11:00.

Tuesday, October 30

  • Moms’ Bible Study group meets at Sooke Baptist Church (7110 West Coast Road), 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Kids welcome – toys provided. You don’t have to attend Sooke Baptist Church to come!
  • Baby Talk (for ages 0 – 12 months) through VIHA at the CASA building, 10:00 to 11:30. Topic: Halloween Party/Fire Safety.

Wednesday, October 31: Halloween

  • Halloween Party at Strong Start, 9:15 AM-12:15 PM.
  • SFRS Parent Discussion group at CASA is CANCELLED!!
  • Halloween at the Library, 2:00-2:45 PM. Come in costume to our Halloween storytime! There will be spooky (but not too scary) tales and rhymes, a sweet treat for trick-or-treaters, and a special Halloween craft. Everyone welcome; no registration required.
  • Safe Halloween at the Community Hall (All Ages), 5:00-9:00 PM. Calling all superheroes, ghosts, princesses and pirates! Join us for this safe and SPOOKTACULAR Community Costume Party that will have a haunted house, inflatables, face painting, and candy, of course! Free admission. Donations gratefully accepted to help keep this event a success.
  • Eerie Acres Haunted Graveyard in East Sooke, 6:00-10:00 PM. A big Halloween attraction for all ages; see this ad for details.
  • Bonfire and Fireworks at Camp Barnard, 6:00 PM, put on by the Otter Point Fire Department.

Thursday, November 1

  • Preschool Storytime at the library, 10:30 AM. Stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, puppet shows, and a craft to take home. For approximately ages 3-5; registration required (call the library).
  • SFRS Young Parents’ Discussion Group at CASA, includes lunch, 11:00 to 1:30. Topic: Early Literacy Ideas.

Friday, November 2

  • Babytime at the library, 10:30 AM. Share rhymes, songs, fingerplays and stories with your baby.  For babies aged 0 to 18 months; registration required (call the library).
  • Free swim at SEAPARC, sponsored by Coast Capital. 5:00-7:45 PM.
  • Alice in Wonderland Jr.: musical by the Sooke Harbour Players. 7:00 PM. Edward Milne Community Theatre. $12 admission. Buy tickets at Village, Shoppers, Peoples, and The Stick. More info on the website.
  • Teen Drop-in for ages 13+, 7:30 to 9:45 PM at the Sooke Community Hall (2037 Shields Road), put on by SEAPARC staff. Free! Pool, music, ping pong, guitar hero and more. Free snacks included!

Saturday, November 3

  • Sooke Shukokai Karate Dojo Grand Opening, 6705 West Coast Road, 10:00 AM.
  • Kindergym at SEAPARC, for ages 1-5, $3, 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Fun Factor Swim at SEAPARC from 1-3:30 PM. Games, activities, inflatable slide!
